LEO THE LOBSTER
Léo is perhaps the coolest job I've ever been commissioned to do! He sat on the Plymouth Waterfront for two years, with 28 of his closest friends!
He stands 5' tall, is made of fiberglass and painted with acrylics. He is coated in layers of car sealer so he can withstand the harsh New England elements!
Léo's sponsor is Anonymous. Her theme is "Childhood Memories"; her son's memories, as a matter of fact.
Léo went on auction and was scooped up by a couple who run a non-profit to foster children. I think he'll be much loved in his new home in Manomet.
Home Sweet Home for the next two years! Leo waves at all those who come and go on Plymouth Harbor.
Couldn't have been happier about a piece I've done! Or the place it sits. Or the reaction of the person it was painted for. Blessed my sox off!
This is what it's all about. Melts my heart to see a little person enjoy something I've painted!
